Chambers of Commerce held by the Youth Chamber of Commerce of Vietnam held the Youth Chamber of Commerce “Career Workshop” for the first time on the afternoon of June 29. Lin Xinru, a certified career counselor of the Career Development Association (CDA) of the United States, was specially invited to be the speaker to share his personal experience in career choices and practical experience as a career counselor, attracting many members and non-members of the Youth Chamber of Commerce to participate enthusiastically. Wen Junfei, head of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Group of the Office in Ho Chi Minh City, Chen Peiyu, secretary of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Group, and Zhang Yifeng, secretary of the Economic Group, were invited to attend. Participants included President Lin Yangyi, member representatives, and local overseas Chinese youth, nearly 30 people, who participated in this fulfilling and inspiring career exploration activity. Lin Yangyi thanked the office for its long-term support for the activities of the Youth Chamber of Commerce, and hoped that there would be more opportunities in the future to provide overseas Chinese youth who come to work in Ho Chi Minh City with the necessary information and resources, shorten the process of adaptation and exploration, and smoothly carry out local life and career development. Wen Junfei also affirmed the efforts and investment of the Youth Chamber of Commerce in organizing this career workshop, which successfully built a platform for experience exchange and interaction for local overseas Chinese youth.
During the lecture that day, Lin Xinru guided the participants to understand the core concept of career counseling in an easy-to-understand way, and led everyone to start from self-resource inventory to clarify personal advantages and development directions; at the same time, through group interaction, the participants were guided to experience the DISC workplace personality trait test, so that everyone can have a deeper understanding of their own communication style and behavior patterns in the workplace in practice. The atmosphere on the scene was warm, and the participants all expressed that they had gained a lot and were inspired a lot.
This career workshop not only helps participants understand how to inventory career resources and break through career bottlenecks, but also promotes the connection between members and non-members of the Youth Chamber of Commerce, further gathers the strength of young overseas Chinese, and injects more vitality and momentum into the overseas Chinese community; the Youth Chamber of Commerce stated that it will continue to plan diversified theme activities in the future to accompany more overseas Chinese youth to move forward steadily and expand their horizons overseas.
